One Semester Industrial Training by IBM India Pvt. Ltd. for B. Tech. (CSE & IT) students.
Punjab Technical University has taken quite a few initiatives to facilitate the Industrial Training of its engineering
students. Some of them are in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertaking (CICU) & other industries of repute to provide a real time practical exposure & thereafter to make the students industry ready.
Under the same initiative now university has taken a step ahead to provide an edge to its budding engineers on the latest technologies through collaboration with MNCs like IBM India Pvt. Ltd. The cost of the training has been subsidized by IBM for PTU students, as Rs. 19,200/- (Service Tax 12.3% extra) per student. In addition, University has also decided to facilitate the 60 students by sharing almost 50 % (Rs. 10,000/-) of the total cost of the training program for every student. In this way each student has to pay an amount of Rs. 11,561.60/- only. B.Tech. CSE & IT (final year) students are only eligible for the said training program. Interested students can register online through PTU web portal (www.ptu.ac.in) by Oct 14, 2012 before 1600 hrs. The seats of the training program are very limited so the selection will be made on the first come first basis. The venue for this one semester training has been decidedas PTU’s- GZS Campus Bathinda.
A separate list of shortlisted candidates and waiting list candidates each will be made available on the website of PTU by October 16, 2012. An advance payment of Rs 11,561.60/- will be immediately required to be submitted by the shortlisted students (if failed to do so, the seat will be offered to the next student in the waiting list). The mode of the payment will be intimated with the list of shortlisted candidates.
